A Mountain of Innovation: Reimagining Landscape Design using Virtual Reality
VR with Intel and Utah State University

Learn how virtual reality (VR) can be implemented into your existing design process to help you visualize and improve your design. This lab will describe using VR as a design creation tool in the conceptual phases of the design process, how it can be integrated with site data, and how you can share your work with clients and the public.

Lab attendees will learn:

  • Best practices for using VR in the design process
  • Know how to integrate VR with other emerging technologies
  • Available programs and their function
  • Equipment requirements

Presenter: Professor Benjamin George, Ph.D., Landscape Architecture & Environmental Planning Utah State University

Bringing Concrete to Life – Applying Principles of Reconciliation Ecology in Urban Waterfronts
ECOncrete

Description: We will present an emerging approach that involves the planning, design and retrofitting of urban waterfronts and related coastal infrastructure for creating multi-functional Blue-Green structures using ecologically sensitive designs and construction technologies that enhance their ability to provide valuable ecosystem services. These services are critical along urbanized coastlines, especially in light of growing threats in the form of increased storm intensity, frequency, and sea level rise, calling for significant coastal hardening.

Presenter: Dr. Ido Sella, CEO, ECOncrete Tech Ltd
